Planet Of The Apes (science fiction, starring Roddy McDowell)

     (CBS Primetime, 1974)

     [based upon the 1968 motion picture of the same name, and its
      four sequels between 1970 - 1973; the idea of this TV series
      seemed like a "no-brainer"; But the franchise which worked on
      the big screen so many times, lasted only briefly on the small
      screen despite Roddy McDowell and a supporting cast in full
      ape drag; after it failed, another cast tried a 2nd TV series
      the following year -- "Return to the Planet Of The Apes" with
      a music THEME by Dean Elliot; that same year (1975), an animated
      version was attempted for Saturday Morning as a cartoon;
      but none of the TV series lasted longer than a year;

      The movies were scored by Jerry Goldsmith, Leonard Rosenman
      and Tom Scott]
