     [after her role in the "Miracle Worker" as the young blind
      and deaf Helen Keller, not too many movie roles were offered;
      So Patty Duke accepted this TV sitcom in which she played a 
      dual role -- both as an American teenager and as her identical
      cousin visiting from Scotland; several popular teenage male
      singing stars of the day made cameo appearances that boosted
      the ratings of the young demographic segment of the audience;
      Cameo appearances were made by Chad and Jeremy, Bobby Vinton
      and Frankie Avalon; the role of Patty Duke's father was played 
      by William Schallert]
