The Outlaws (western, starring Barton MacLane and Don Collier)

    (NBC Primetime, 1960 - 1962)

    [an ambitious NBC hour-long series about a Marshall and his
     Deputy in the rough and tumble Oklahoma Territory town of
     Stillwater, as they tried to keep the territory free of the
     usual varmits and bad eggs...

     Slim Pickens played a colorful supporting role which began
     the second season which kept it from becoming a total ripoff
     of "Gunsmoke", but was not enough of a change to save it from
     the ratings scrapheap;

     This is not to be confused with a much later series called
     "Outlaws" in the 1980s]
