Julia (sitcom, starring Diahann Carroll)

    [Diahann Carroll played a nurse trying to raise her son after
     her husband, an Air Force pilot, is killed in Viet Nam. Six
     year old Marc Copage played her son. Lloyd Nolan played her
     boss, a doctor at the hospital. Veteran actress Lurene Tuttle
     played the head nurse; since this was the first sitcom since
     "Beulah" to star a black actress, NBC network executives were
     worried about how audiences would accept the integrated cast;
     They needn't have -- this was the late 1960s, and the youth
     movement had brought about many changes of attitudes so that
     this wasn't a factor; in a sense, this series paved the way
     for many bolder sitcoms to reach mainstream audiences by
     proving the concept of presenting on TV sitcom swhat existed
     in the culture at large]
