The Joseph Cotton Show / On Trial (dramatic anthology)

    (NBC Primetime, 1956 - 1958;
     CBS Primetime, 1959)

    [Celebrated film actor Joseph Cotton hosted this original
     anthology series, and played in some episodes; although
     not as well known as dramatic anthology shows hosted by
     other film stars such as Loretta Young and Dick Powell,
     this series was a respectable one not to be forgotton;

     What made it unique was that each episode was based upon
     an actual true-life legal cases in various countries and
     times throughout history; hence its original title was
    "On Trial", but it was changed after six months since its
     host was so well known, to "The Joseph Cotton Show";

     During its final season it was rerun with episodes from
     other CBS anthology series as a summer replacement show]
