The Jimmy Dean Show (musical-variety)

    (CBS Daytime, 1957 - 1959 as "The C.B.S. Country Music Show";
     CBS Primetime, 1957;
     ABC Primetime, 1963 - 1966 as "The Jimmy Dean Show";
     Syndicated, 1973 - 1975 as "The Jimmy Dean Show")

    [aka: "The C.B.S. Country Music Show";

     Texas vocalist Jimmy Dean who first made a hit with his deep
     voice singing "Big Bad John", hosted a country music variety
     series that evolved over several time slots and formats;

     His first series was a CBS Daytime show that lasted two years;
     a Prime Time show on the same network lasted only a short time;

     Five years later he was back on ABC for another try, hosting a
     weekly Prime Time series that lasted for three seasons;

     Seven years later he hosted a syndicated series with the same
     name which was produced from 1973 - 1975;

     Overall, his television series aired for a total of seven years
     which is a respectable track record for anyone -- especially a
     recording artist who also tours playing concerts;

     Later in his life Jimmy Dean fronted a food products line that
     included sausages and other delights which he promoted in some
     friendly commercials with his brand name]
