Hondo (western, starring Ralph Taeger)

     (ABC Primetime, 1967)

     [a short-lived MGM western series based upon the adventures of
      a fictional 1870s cavalry scout named Hondo Lane -- a character
      created by famed 19th-century western author Louis L'Amour; The
      TV series was based loosely upon the 1953 Warner Brothers movie
      "Hondo" which starred John Wayne in the title role; Ironically
      the cast of this motion picture included two other future TV
      stars -- Ward Bond who went on to star in "Wagon Train" -- and
      James Arness who starred in TV's "Gunsmoke" three years later;
      The Warner Brothers motion picture was scored by Emil Newman
      and veteran hollywood composer/orchestrator Hugo Friedhofer]
