Hawkins (legal drama, starring Jimmy Stewart)

    (CBS Primetime, 1973 - 1974)

    [despite Hollywood's "conventional wisdom" that feature film
     people are "a cut above" television people, motion picture
     legend Jimmy Stewart tried a couple of television series;
     this MGM effort in conjunction with Arena Productions was
     the second of the two (the first was "The Jimmy Stewart
     Show", a Warner Brothers sitcom for NBC (1971 - 1972);
     Despite Stewart's considerable talents, and a supporting
     cast that included actor Strother Martin, this effort, as
     well as his first series, only lasted one season each]
