(ABC Primetime, 1948 - 1949) [an extension of the radio show of the same name, hosted by the 80-year-old vaudeville veteran Joe Howard]
[Although written in the decade following the 1890's, this was a familiar melody often sung by barbershop quartets; it was Joe Howard's signature song which he co-wrote with two other songwriters fifty years previously for a 1909 musical revue called "The Prince of Tonight". Although his name was not on the original song, Harold Orlob's publisher successfully sued in 1948 to add his name to the song as a co-writer, but Orlob refused to accept any subsequent royalties.] Composers: music by Joseph E.
