Syndicated, 1955 - 57 [This TV show was filmed in Chicago, and had 26 episodes that were syndicated. Featured performers besides country vocalist and host Eddy Arnold (known affectionately as "The Tennessee Plowboy") included vocalist Betty Johnson of "The Johnson Family Singers", and a 4-piece male vocal group, "The Gordonaires", who also recorded under the name "The Jordonaires" on the Capitol Records label.]
[Although on his radio series, Eddy Arnold had used "The Cattle Call" as his yodeling theme song (written in 1934), he chose a different theme to use on this 1955 Television Series. This was also one of Arnold's biggest hit songs, written in 1948; It served him well, selling millions of copies. It has been recorded by over two dozen artists since Arnold sung it, including Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and Marty Robbins. It begins with bittersweet lyrics, "I'm sending you a big Bouquet of Roses, one for ev'ry time you broke my heart..." Ironically, despite it's country flavor, the two writers were members of ASCAP, not BMI who usually represent country songs. At one point the original publisher, Hill & Range Songs, was sold to Chappell Music Inc., which later became part of the conglomerate Warner-Chappell Music, Inc.
