The Count Of Monte Christo (adventure, starring George Dolenz)

    [This 1955 TV series was one in a number of films and TV shows
     based upon the legendary 1845 novel of Alexandre Dumas about a
     Frenchman Edmond Dantes who was falsely accused and convicted
     of a crime he didn't commit, who escaped from a French prison
     and fought injustice from an island named "Monte Christo";

     This version starred George Dolenz, father of Mickey Dolenz
     who was one of "The Monkees" in the 1960s rock sitcom; It was
     filmed at the Hal Roach Studios, using sets from the 1934
     motion picture version of "Count Of Monte Christo" which
     starred Robert Donat; to take advantage of exteriors, parts
     of the series of 78 episodes was filmed in Great Britain;

     In 1973 another effort was made to turn the legend into a TV
     series as an animated cartoon; and there were four made-for-
     TV movies based upon the legend as well]
