The Yellow Rose (serial drama, starring David Soul and Cybill Shepherd)

    (NBC Primetime, 1983 - 1984)

    [From 1975 - 1985 prime-time serials featured Oil barons of
    "Dallas" and the Wine barons of "Falcon Crest" who attracted
     loyal audiences; so this series about the Cattle Barons of
     a Texas ranch called "The Yellow Rose" must have been thought
     to be a natural; but Hollywood copycat wisdom only goes so far,
     and it only lasted one season despite some talented castmembers;

     The supporting cast included Edward Albert, Sam Elliot
     Chuck Connors, Noah Beery Jr. and Jane Russell]
