     was a forum for Garroway's laid-back personality and humor;
     Garroway had been a Chicago radio personality; this show
     preceded his stint on the Daytime NBC "Today" show, and
     may have been one reason he was known to Pat Weaver who
     originated the "Today" show]


Theme: "Sentimental Journey"

    [this piece -- which was the theme song of the Les Brown
     Big Band, and was long associated with Dave Garroway on
     radio and TV, was the first "Today Show" theme.]
