[The Many Loves of] Dobie Gillis (sitcom, starring Dwayne Hickman and Bob Denver)

    [This series was based upon a 1953 movie called "The Affairs
     of Dobie Gillis" scored by Jeff Alexander; the supporting
     cast included Tuesday Weld and William Schallert;

     The series about a pair of high school buddies and their
     familyl and friends featured a handsome girl-crazy dreamer
     (Hickman) and his goofy "beatnik sidekick" buddy played by
     Bob Denver in the role of "Maynard Krebs"; later Denver
     migrated the character into the role of "Gilligan" on the
     sitcom "Gilligan's Island"]
