Theme: "Signature: C B S Playhouse"

    [this very avant-garde piece was scored to the some very modern
     style animation, garnered an Emmy nomination for Copland, who was
     one of America's most distinguished composers of serious works.

     His ballet score for "Appalachian Spring" written in his earlier
    "Americana" style, yielded the THEME for "C B S Reports", which see,
     But this was a commission especially written for the network.
     It was an distinctive, if not a particularly tuneful, piece.]
